The Lesson a Teacher Already Knows How to Teach

The lesson is yours. Use a chatbot only to format the handout, the quiz, or the note home.

You already know how to teach the period. The time disappears in layout: the worksheet, the five questions, the message to parents. That is a formatting job. It is not a reason to hand the objective to a tool that has not read your syllabus.

Start from the objective

Write one line from the scheme of work you are actually following. If you teach CAPE or CSEC, that line should match the syllabus, the way the weekly plan describes. Then write three facts or steps you insist the class leaves with. Those are yours. The tool has not earned them.

Ask for a one-page handout that uses only those steps, in short sentences, with space for the class to write. Then ask for five questions you could give at the end, with the answers on a separate page.

Check before you photocopy

  • Every fact is one you wrote, or one you have just checked in the textbook.
  • No student is named. No grade appears. See what never to paste.
  • The questions can be marked. “Discuss the topic” is not a question for a ten-minute close.
  • A parent note, if you need one, uses the method in write a notice.

If the handout adds a definition you did not supply, delete it or verify it. Fluency is not accuracy. The check is the same one you would want your students to learn.

What you are not outsourcing

Behaviour, marking judgment, and the decision that a child needs a person. A chatbot must not write a report that sounds like it knows a student. You know the student. The tool knows a pattern of sentences.

One evening, one objective, one handout. That is a finished piece of work. A term plan generated in a single prompt is a pile you will not trust on Monday morning.
